New Bern Major Communities
A strong sense of community is one of the most desirable aspects of life in New Bern. Friendly neighbors extend a warm welcome to newcomers and enjoy shared interests and activities in any of the neighborhoods.
Choices are limited only by your budget, personal style, and imagination, with possibilities ranging from the stately historic homes of downtown New Bern to contemporary waterfront or golf course homes and townhomes in one of New Bern's beautiful communities. Almost every architectural era is represented, and many styles of homes can be found at varying prices in the neighborhood of your preference.
The charming downtown Historic District offers homes varying from cozy cottages to imposing three-story waterfront homes dating from the 1750s. Many Federal- and Georgian-style homes, some with beautiful gardens, fill the tree-lined streets.
The Trent Woods area is composed of several neighborhoods (some of which are on the Trent River), a yacht club, and New Bern Golf and Country Club. Smaller neighborhoods within the Trent Woods area include Bellefern, Country Club Hills, Creeks End, Fox Hollow, Wilson Creek, and Trent Shores.
