You will find an eclectic mix of people living in Eastern North Carolina. We have a large retirement population, with people coming from the Northeast, Florida and other locations. MCAS Cherry Point , nearby Camp Lejuene and MCAS New River bring people from all over the world to be our neighbors, some for a few years and the lucky ones for life! These military installations are major contributors to our national security as well as providing economic and cultural benefits to the entire State.
With approximately 350,000 residents in the combined Craven, Jones, Pamlico and Carteret county areas we are big enough to offer the good things in life without the hassles of major metropolitian areas. Compared to some places we don't have any traffic. You can fly from Coastal Carolina Regional Airport to the larger areas with backyard convenience.
Eastern North Carolina has an abundance of places to see and things to do. In Eastern N.C. we enjoy the recreational activities of the land and water. College sports entertain us and provide for friendly neighborly and sometimes same household rivalries.
